Heavy storms have hit Vienna yesterday. The Viennese professional fire brigade had been on continuous duty since 17:30 hrs and had to complete about 100 operations since then due to the heavy rain. Since 18.00 o’clock there has been increased alert.
Lukas Schauer, spokesman of the fire brigade, informed the APA that the operations were due to fallen trees, broken branches, flooded cellars or water ingresses into apartments. Initially, there was no information about people who had been injured.
